What improvements did the U.S. 331 project include?
The main focus of work was widening the highway to four lanes from the U.S.98 intersection to the southern end of the Clyde B. Wells Bridge across Choctawhatchee Bay. The project also included safety and drainage improvements, new sidewalks, bicycle lanes and aesthetic improvements.

The construction cost for the U.S. 331 improvement project was approximately $12 million. The project was funded by the Florida Department of Transportation.

The construction project was administered by the Florida Department of Transportation, District Three. Genesis CE&I Services, Inc. of Crestview provided construction engineering and inspection services for FDOT. The construction contractor was C.W. Roberts Contracting of Hosford, Fla.
